This was a short-lived experiment from Frank Richards. Slick Dexter was a 16 year old from Panhandle who joined the Circle Bar ranch as a cow hand. The books also included a range of comic strip stories as well as Richards' story, and were published by Gould-Light Company, at sixpence an issue.
Some of the stories were reprinted in 1959 by publisher G.T. Ltd. of London.
