Goldhawk Books (1952-1953) |

2 soft back publications were produced each month, published by Hamilton & Co. at 1/6 each – similar in size and format to the pre-War Schoolboys Own Library, but containing original stories. The series publication dates gradually petered out due to the tight restrictions on paper (and possibly due to the increasing success of the hardback books, which were advertised in the Gold Hawk volumes). The cover illustrations were by C.H. Chapman. Early volumes played up the attraction of Tom Merry, but later volumes brought A.A. D’Arcy to the fore, with his attempts to reform his shady cousin “Cad Cardew”.
