Hutchinson’s Pie was a pocket sized format magazine that appeared quarterly , with the name of the season preceding Pie – hence Summer, Autumn, Winter, Christmas Pie, etc. It contained a variety of articles on current events, fiction, quizzes, etc.
It also included a number of original Carcroft stories by Frank Richards, many of which were later reprinted in the Silver Jacket. You can read all the original Carcroft stories on the story paper section of the Friardale site
